Cooper cheered by happy Smurfday

Hartlepool boss Neale Cooper has paid tribute the the fans who turned their end of The Valley into Smurfland on Saturday.

Hundreds of Pools supporters turned up dressed as Smurfs for their side's final match of the season, a 3-2 defeat at champions Charlton.
Cooper told the club website: "I thought we would go out and do the best we could with the support we had down - Smurfland - which was fantastic.
"I got a message from friends in Scotland saying the Smurfs are invading Charlton and then I saw the pictures. It's fantastic.
"It means the world to the players, the support we had."
