Laszlo warning to Wallace
Hearts, 14:17, October 12, 2009 ,
Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo believes Lee Wallace can build on his impressive debut for Scotland and cement a regular place in the side.
The 22-year-old was a late call-up to the squad, after Danny Fox's potential debut was ruined by injury, and he performed admirably on the left, although Scotland slipped to a 2-0 defeat in Japan.
The young defender has won the praise of his club boss but Laszlo has urged him not to rest on his laurels.
"This was a big moment for the career of Lee Wallace," Laszlo told Hearts News. "It was his first game for the national team and I thought he handled the occasion well.
"This is all about him learning. He has to keep working hard for Hearts and learning more and more.
"If he keeps his focus and his attitude then I see no reason why he can't play more games for Scotland, definitely.
"He is young and has the best years of his career in front of him but he cannot think he has done it all now just because he has one cap."
