Hereford have confirmed they have drawn up a shortlist of six names for the club's vacant managerial position.

Richard O'Kelly turned down the chance to lead the Bulls in the Blue Square Bet Premier next season having been unable to stave off relegation This led to over 40 applications for the position, which has now been whittled down to just six names. Interviews are due to start later this week, with an appointment hoped to be made by June 1. Speaking last week, chairman David Keyte told the club's official website: "We've been pleased by the amount and strength of applicants, proving that the opportunity to be manager of Hereford United is an exciting opportunity. "We have been strongly advised we need to appoint someone who knows the Conference inside out. "We need to appoint someone who is prepared and able to work to a tight budget, while producing a team capable of pushing for at least the play-offs."
