Gow speaks out on Hibs switch

Hibernian, 13:26, February 2, 2010

Plymouth midfielder Alan Gow admitted the chance to work with boss John Hughes again was a key reason why he joined Hibs on loan.

The 27-year-old agreed a deal to stay at Easter Road until the end of the season and teams up again with Hughes - the man who signed him for Falkirk in 2005 before selling him on to Rangers two years later.

"I'm delighted to be joining Hibernian to the end of the season and looking forward to working with John Hughes again," Gow told the club's official website after the move was confirmed late on Monday.

"I know how the gaffer likes to play the game, and how well the team are performing at the moment, so I can't wait to meet the boys and start training."

Hughes admitted he has nothing but admiration for the midfielder and is looking for Gow to make a big impact in the remainder of the season.

He said: "Alan is a player I admire tremendously, and I know what he's all about from our time together at Falkirk.

"The supporters have been fantastic since I've been at the club and it's always good to give them a lift at this time of year, so I'm delighted to get Alan to Hibernian for the rest of the campaign.

"He adds more real quality to the squad, and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve."
