Hibernian midfielder Merouane Zemmama is struggling to face Dundee United but Alan Gow could return from injury on Wednesday.

Zemmama was forced off in Saturday's 3-1 win at Falkirk and was sent for a scan on his knee this week to see the extent of the damage. He is rated as a major doubt for the rearranged clash while Paul Hanlon is still out but Gow has recovered from a hamstring problem and is in line to return. Boss John Hughes knows the clash is crucial if Hibs are to claim third place in the SPL and he believes the game will be real battle. "If we've got aspirations to get that third spot we have to give it everything we've got," he said. "I like to think the win that we had on Saturday will give us the confidence to say 'come on, then'. "It should be a cracker. It was the last time we were at Easter Road and I'm looking forward to it."
