Huddersfield have signed former Dundee United defender Paul Dixon on a three-year deal.

Dixon will join the newly-promoted Terriers on a free transfer on July 1 when his contract with the Scottish Premier League side expires. Championship rivals Cardiff and Leicester had been linked with Dixon and Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson was delighted to beat off competition to secure the 25-year-old's signature. "Paul turned down a number of other Championship clubs to join us, which I believe speaks volumes about the football club," Grayson told the club's official website. "He is a left-back with lots of games behind him for both Dundee and Dundee United who also has international experience with Scotland. "He will be a good addition to our squad for the upcoming season and many beyond."
