Altidore ready for Premier chance
Hull City, 10:08, August 11, 2009 ,
Jozy Altidore is relishing the chance to play for Hull in the Premier League after securing a work permit to complete his loan move.
The 19-year-old American international will stay with the Tigers for this coming season with a view to a permanent contract after joining from Spanish La Liga outfit Villarreal. And, despite being away on international duty with USA ahead of their World Cup Qualifier against Mexico on Wednesday, Altidore is in contention to make his debut at Chelsea on Saturday.
Altidore, who has scored seven goals in 16 international appearances, told the club's official website: "I'm very excited about the prospect of playing for Hull City.
"Hull City is a good club, up and coming, and to have the opportunity to play for them in the Premier League is a great thing.
"I'm sure it will take a little while to get used to being here, but hopefully I will be a success here.
"I'm a huge follower of the English Premier League. Most people think this is the best league in the world and I am no different.
"There are so many great players here. Anybody who is anybody would like to get the chance to play here and experience it."
