Sunderland have signed Michael Turner from Hull City on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee - believed to be in excess of £10m.
The signing of Turner, who has been the Tigers player of the season for the last two years, will be a major boost to boss Steve Bruce as he flexes the club's financial muscles again.
Turner played every single minute of Hull's Premier League campaign last season, with his displays leading to some observers calling for him to be included in Fabio Capello's England squad and attracting interest from Spurs and Liverpool.
