Hull confirm French offer
Hull City, 11:16, June 16, 2009 ,
Hull have tabled a bid, believed to be £2.5m, for Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune and look to be leading the race for his signature.
The 27-year-old impressed Phil Brown during his time on loan at West Brom last season, scoring five goals in 17 matches during his stint at the Hawthorns.
The Baggies have been keen to sign the forward, but the Tigers, Wolves and Celtic have also expressed an interest and the lure of the Premier League looks to be a crucial factor in where he will end up.
Fortune's representatives will now meet Hull chairman Paul Duffen to discuss personal terms, with Brown optimistic that the Tigers will persuade him to sign up at the KC Stadium.
Brown stated: "Marc-Antoine Fortune is a player we're interested in. We have discussed terms with his club and I would say we're probably one of three serious contenders.
"We've done our business with his club and we remain hopeful. He caught the eye and captured everyone's imagination in the second half of last season."
