Hull in for Pennant
Hull are lining up a swoop for Jermaine Pennant but the player could still have a future at Stoke despite being released.
Pennant was one of seven players to be told they would not be getting new contracts at the Britannia Stadium but now it is claimed that Potters boss Mark Hughes could offer him a new deal after all.
Stoke chairman Peter Coates is said to have left the decision to Hughes and there is a chance that Pennant could spend at least another season in Staffordshire.
However, should he leave, the 30-year-old winger will not be short of offers and Tigers boss Steve Bruce is being linked as he looks to build a squad capable of keeping the club in the Premier League.
Even if Hughes does offer Pennant a new deal, the winger may still decide to cut all ties with the club in favour of a fresh challenge and the chance to link up again with Bruce, who he worked with at Birmingham, could appeal.
