Hull's record signing Jimmy Bullard has come out and publicly thanked physio Simon Maltby for resurrecting his career.
The Tigers record signing finally made his full home debut for the club in last weekend's win over Stoke and he has come out and thanked the club's physio for saving his career.
After Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's injury-time winner, Bullard made a point of celebrating with Maltby and he explained why afterwards.
"Every player will tell you that you need a right hand man with you and Simon was there for me,'' he told the Star.
"We spoke every day and, at times, I was closer to him than I was to my missus.
"Well, maybe not that close but you have to have that kind of relationship.
"He has been absolutely brilliant with me, as has Liam McGarry, who works with him. I owe the two of them loads and just wanted to show my appreciation for that by giving them a cuddle.''
