Hull striker Nick Proschwitz could have forced his way back into contention for the home game against Middlesbrough with a matchwinning weekend display.
The German, who has made only three starts for Hull since arriving in a £2.6million move in the summer, stepped off the substitutes' bench to score twice - the second deep in injury time - and earn the Tigers a 2-1 home win over Ipswich. Proschwitz has had to be patient in recent weeks due to the form of Jay Simpson and Sone Aluko, but his two goals on Saturday may earn him only a fourth start for the club. Manager Steve Bruce must also decide whether to stick with Liam Rosenior and Andy Dawson in his back four or recall fit-again pair James Chester, who recovered from a hamstring strain to play the final 20 minutes on Saturday, and Joe Dudgeon (knee). Hull have won five of their last eight league games and lie sixth in the table.
