Skipper backs boss
Hull City, 11:33, November 2, 2009 ,
Hull captain Nicky Barmby believes boss Phil Brown is still the right man for the job despite a run of just three wins in 33 games.
The Tigers announced their arrival in the big time for the 2008/09 season with a bang after winning six of their first nine top-flight games before a near-disastrous slump which nearly saw them relegated in May.
And the KC Stadium outfit's form has not improved much this term, with Hull winning just two league games out of 11 and they sit joint-bottom with Portsmouth.
But former England international Barmby reckons Brown's record in the hot seat needs to be viewed in context after he guided the club out of the Championship via the play-offs.
Barmby said: "What he has done for this club is amazing - the first manager to get us in the top flight after 104 years, so we certainly want him to stay."
Hull lost 2-0 at promoted Burnley at the weekend but the result was arguably harsh on the Tigers as the Clarets scored a questionable penalty and Hull also saw a Geovanni free-kick disallowed by the referee.
