Striker deal off

Hull City, 14:58, August 14, 2009 ,

Hull boss Phil Brown has pulled out of the race to sign Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack.

The Tigers boss was keen to do a deal for the striker but has been unable to agree a fee with the Bluebirds, who were also unhappy with the method of payment.
Brown has now lost patience with the deal and is looking elsewhere.
"I'm not convinced they want to do business and, in that case, I'm not interested," he revealed.
Meanwhile, Cardiff boss Dave Jones has hit out at the Tigers saying their valuation fell well short.
"We have a valuation and we are not in the game of pleasing other football clubs," he added. "The offer they made for Ross was ludicrous, we'd probably get the full amount in five years' time!
"They want to do the deal with add-ons such as if they stay in the division and how many games he plays etc. So we're a million miles apart at the moment.
"What we've told them, unless they match our valuation they can go and look somewhere else."
