Striker deal still on
Hull City, 11:20, August 17, 2009 ,
Hull boss Phil Brown claims the Tigers are in the market for Real Madrid's Alvaro Negredo whether or not they sell Michael Brown.
Hull have a put a £12m price tag on the defender with Manchester City said to be interested in landing him as they look to continue to strengthen their squad.
The Tigers have been linked with a move for Real Madrid star Negredo but many fans believe a move will only come to pass if Hull get £12m for Turner.
Brown says the two moves are not linked and would like to keep Turner if he can after he defended the centre-back's price tag.
"People have classed the price-tag on Michael Turner as ridiculous but as far as we're concerned, that's how big a player he is for us," Brown told the Hull Mail.
"Everyone is for sale but we've got a big price on him. He might not be worth that to someone else but he's certainly worth it to us.
"He's being courted by the bigger clubs because of the way he defends but it wasn't about the individuals at Chelsea, it was about a good, solid team performance."
