Striker opts for Hull

Hull City, 15:43, June 27, 2009 ,

Hull look to have beaten Celtic to the signature of Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune, according to the French club.

Tigers boss Phil Brown is keen to do a deal but he feared the 27-year-old would opt to join Celtic, as he knows Tony Mowbray well from his time at West Brom last season.
However, Hull are now in the box seat according to Nancy sporting director Nicolas Holveck, who claims that a deal could be sorted out over the weekend.
"He has had permission to speak to clubs but the most advanced discussions, and the team that is very close to signing him, is Hull City," he revealed.
"It's highly possible a deal will be agreed over the weekend and, while these things can change at the last minute, Hull are the clear favourites."
