Tigers aiming to show Premier League bite
Hull City, 11:32, June 24, 2009 ,
Hull City have signalled their intent for next season with the capture of Marc Antoine-Fortune and hope to also sign Michael Owen.
The Tigers have landed the former West Brom striker Fortune ahead of the likes of Wolves and Celtic while boss Phil Brown says he is interested in Owen, who will leave Newcastle this summer when his contract expires there next week.
"We will be speaking to Michael's representatives within the week" Brown has said. "I would think he would have a number of offers and we'll have to be competitive.
"But I wouldn't sit down with him if I thought I was wasting my time. Anything is possible in football."
Brown's side only just stayed in the top flight on the last day of the season but showed plenty of potential in the first half of the campaign when they were battling among the top six.
They kick off next term with a tough examination at Chelsea before home games against Spurs and Bolton.
Brown will be hoping the Tigers can enjoy a better season next time around with an improved squad so punters wanting to make use of a £10 free bet may be tempted to look at Hull finishing on more points next season.
