Tigers chief reveals Plan B
Hull City, 08:17, August 31, 2009 ,
Phil Brown has confirmed that he is in talks with a Premier League defender in case Michael Turner quits Hull in a multi-million deal.
The Tigers boss would not reveal the identity of the centre-half, but admitted that he has been forced to find a replacement for the influential Turner due to the interest being shown in the stopper.
And with Sunderland reportedly set to offer 'silly' money of up to £10million for him, Brown insists the club would not turn that down.
Brown has stressed that he does not want to lose Turner, who was a key man in the weekend's 1-1 draw at Wolves, but if the right money is put on the table he has Plan B at the ready.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "There have been two or three clubs quite substantial bids. And they are getting towards our valuation.
"I am hoping we can hang on to him but, if we don't, we will have to try and get better in the camp. The problem is we are a bit close to the deadline.
"I am talking to a Premier League striker this weekend and, hopefully, if he passes the medical we will get him in.
"I am also talking to a Premier League centre half - just in case."
