Asamoah denies contact with Prem giants
International Football, 14:54, January 28, 2010 ,
Ghana playmaker Kojo Asamoah has rejected claims he has been approached by Arsenal and Chelsea, saying he is happy at Udinese.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been an impressive regular for the Black Stars at the African Cup of Nations, helping them reach the semi-finals, while his stock is rising with the Bianconeri.
The former Liberty Professionals ace has reportedly been attracting the attentions of both Arsenal and Chelsea for the last several months, who are keen to nurture his creative talent.
However, Asamoah insists that he is looking no further than Ghana at the moment and is determined to cement his place at the Stadio Friuli, while insisting that no contact has been made with either of the English giants.
"I am an Udinese player. My ambition is to be in the team, week in, week out," Asamoah said.
"To be linked to Arsenal and Chelsea is a good thing but I've never been approached by those teams.
"If they are following me that is good and it means I am doing well, but now my focus is to bring the African Nations Cup to my country, nothing else."
