Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes says he can feel the desire in his squad to qualify the Champions League final on home turf.
Bayern host Real Madrid in Tuesday's semi-final first leg clash with the Bundesliga side aiming to secure a decent advantage as they bid to contest the final at their very own Allianz Arena against either Barcelona or Chelsea next month. Heynckes believes it is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to play a Champions League final at their own stadium and wants his players to grasp it firmly. "It is certainly a very special motivation that the final takes place in the Allianz Arena," he said at the pre-match press conference. "This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity." "Of course it is important for us to be successful. We still have chances in the Champions League and in the DFB-Pokal, and when you have a tie like this, the desire to win titles is decisive." He added: "I can feel that within the team. We have already shown in the Champions League this year what we are capable of."
