Bayern suffer Euro setback

Bayern Munich have been told they will be without Miroslav Klose for up to a month, with the striker requiring ankle surgery.

The Germany international suffered a torn tendon in his ankle during Bayern's 3-0 win over Bochum at the weekend, forcing him to undergo medical tests on Sunday.
The results show the 30-year-old will need an operation in the next few days, with Bayern's medical team stating that Klose will certainly be missing from training for the next fortnight.
It means the striker, joint top scorer in the Champions League this season with seven goals, will now miss Germany's next two World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Wales as well as both legs of Bayern's Champions League quarter-final.
Coach Jurgen Klinsmann admitted on the club's website: "This is obviously a bitter blow. We can only hope that the operation goes well and Miro gets back on his feet quickly."
Klinsmann is already without Luca Toni, who is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, but there is a chance the Italian frontman could be back for next Saturday's Bundesliga's clash with Karlsruhe.
