Dzeko hungry to play for Wolfe
International Football, 08:50, June 30, 2009 ,
AC Milan target Edin Dzeko has confirmed that he will be staying put with German champions Wolfsburg this summer.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international striker has been heavily linked with a move away from his current club having helped them clinch the Bundesliga title last term. And, despite interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, Dzeko had previously stated that he would only consider a move to Milan if he quit Wolfsburg.
However, following claims he was being made to stay at Wolfe against his will, Dzeko has now revealed that he is happy to stay put.
"I'm fine at Wolfsburg and I'm happy to be able to play in the Champions League," he told the club's official website.
"In the coming years I will play for Wolfsburg at 100 per cent."
Wolfsburg have also broken their silence to reveal that Dzeko agreed to stay at the club following discussions at the weekend.
"From Saturday, Dzeko will be at the training camp at Sylt," said a statement on the website.
"After a clarifying meeting with the directors, now he is sure: he will stay at Wolfsburg."
The news will come as a huge blow to Milan as the Italian Serie A giants were hoping to snap up a quality replacement for Kaka, who quit the San Siro for a big-money move to Real Madrid.
