Gattuso gets four game ban
International Football, 18:21, February 21, 2011
AC Milan skipper Gennaro Gattuso has received a four-match ban for headbutting Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Joe Jordan.
During a UEFA disciplinary hearing on Monday, the former Rangers midfielder was given the suspension after the clash with Jordan at the San Siro last week.
The conflict occurred during the Champions League knockout game, where Spurs recorded a famous 1-0 win over the Italian giants, thanks to a goal from England striker Peter Crouch.
After the game, Gattuso said: "I lost control. There is no excuse for what I did. I take my responsibilities for that.
"I was nervous. We were both speaking Scottish, something that I learned when I played in his home city of Glasgow, but I can't tell you what we said.
"I didn't want to argue with players and I did it with him but I was wrong to do what I have done. I will have to await what they decide."
Milan have decided that they will appeal the decision, which would see Gattuso miss his side's quarter-final and semi-final games if they manage get past Spurs at White Hart Lane on March 9.
