Guardiola spooked by Arsenal draw
International Football, 19:52, December 17, 2010 , | 2 Comments
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola admits he is "frightened" of facing Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The two European giants were paired together when the names were drawn out of the hat on Friday for what is expected to be a mouth-watering clash in Europe's elite club competition.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger predicted that his side would face the Catalans again this season after being paired with the Spaniards 12 months ago.
Barcelona are widely regarded as the best club team in the world at present and are top of the La Liga standings, but Guardiola is taking nothing for granted and admitted that Arsenal's style of play worried him with the players they have in the squad.
"Arsenal frighten me, but that is true of all the clubs in the draw," he said. "I will be a little calmer when I start to watch their games if I can see any weaknesses.
"Arsenal are a classic of English football. They have been playing good football for years now. I think they will be stronger than they were last season with Nasri now fully established in the team, plus the signing of Chamakh.
"Also there's a difference this time: Cesc (Fábregas) will be on the pitch. If you're not at your best, Arsenal overrun you."
