Ahead of their second Euro 2012 game against Italy, Luka Modric says Croatia can compete with Spain for top spot in Group C.
Croatia easily beat the Republic of Ireland 3-1 on Sunday and belief is high in the camp that they can follow that up with a win over Italy on Thursday.
If they do come away from Poznan with a positive result, Slaven Bilic's side can lay claim to winning a difficult group and Modric insists his country have no reason to believe they cannot compete with Spain.
"They have some great players and (Andres) Iniesta represents the best type of player for his position worldwide, but we are confident we can beat anyone if we play as we can and that includes the Spaniards," he said.
