France have been dealt a blow ahead of their Euro 2012 opener against England as Yann M'Vila is set to miss out.
The Rennes midfielder has caught the eye this season with a number of impressive performances to establish himself in the national side, with Arsenal lining up a summer move. Punters looking to use their free bet however will have noted that the 21-year-old is struggling to make the England clash after failing to recover sufficiently from an ankle injury sustained in a friendly against Serbia on May 31. Team doctor Fabrice Bryand has insisted that M'Vila is making good progress from the turned ankle but Monday's game is likely to come too early. "His progress is good but we do not want to aggravate the injury," Bryand told L'Equipe. "We are not optimistic for the 11th. "We will increase his workload and see if his ankle swells again or if he suffers any ill effects. We will pay close attention to the player's recovery." There are injury doubts surrounding the two men most likely to replace M'Vila in the starting XI with Alou Diarra giving Les Bleus a 'big scare' with a knee injury, while Blaise Matuidi is making 'satisfactory progress' from a hamstring complaint.
