Scotland romped to victory thanks to goals from Jordan Rhodes, an own goal from Jason Davidson and a good finish from Ross McCormack.

Scotland made a bright start to the game but it was the Australians who broke the deadlock on 19 minutes in controversial circumstances. The ball looked to have gone out of play for a goal kick but a corner was given which the Scots thought they had dealt with, before Mark Bresciano fired home a stunning volley into the top right corner. Scotland were forced to make two changes in the first-half with Matthew Gilks coming on for Allan McGregor in goal and James Morrison was replaced by Shaun Maloney, with the home side grabbing an equaliser on 29 minutes. Danny Fox looked dangerous on the flank before his cross came in for Huddersfield striker Rhodes, who connected with a fine header to score on his first start for the Scots. The second-half started off very slowly compared to the first with the Scots took the lead in bizarre circumstances, when a regulation cross from Fox was headed by substitute Davidson into the back of his own net on 63 minutes. Scotland put the result beyond doubt with 14 minutes remaining, when Leeds United striker McCormack beat Davidson before slotting the ball past Adam Federici. Charlie Adam saw a curling effort just go wide of the mark in the dying moments, but Scotland could not add to their total and the home fans left Easter Road happy.
