Spanish star has Premier League dream

International Football, 13:14, January 31, 2010 ,

Real Madrid star Raul is open to a switch to the Premier League, according to the 31-year-old striker's agent.

Raul has achieved legendary status at the Santiago Bernabeu since making his debut in 1994 with over 200 La Liga goals to his name.
However, following the Spanish giants summer spending exploits, in which Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema all made the switch to Madrid, Raul has found his first-team opportunities limited.
The veteran striker's current deal runs until 2011 and his agent, Gines Carvajal, admits that although Raul is happy to see out his contract in the Spanish capital he has not ruled out a move away - with the Premier League a possible destination.
"It is no secret that he has always liked the Premier League," said Carvajal.
"The only formal offer the club ever received for him came from Chelsea at the time when they signed (Claude) Makelele (2003).
"Raul's contract runs until 2011 and at the moment he plans to see it out but it is a long season and we will have to see what happens."
