Butcher hails Caley 'heroes'

Inverness Caledonian Thistle, 14:41, May 14, 2009 ,

Terry Butcher feels Inverness are inching closer to safety and was upbeat despite losing a late equaliser at Motherwell last night.

The Caley Thistle boss saw his side fight back from a goal down to take a 2-1 second-half advantage, thanks to goals from Filipe Morais and Dougie Imrie.
John Sutton's equaliser with just 11 minutes remaining snatched a point for the home side and leaves Inverness now three points clear of St Mirren, who went bottom on Wednesday night.
Butcher said: "We lost the three points and only secured the one. We're scoring goals in the split, we're picking up points and we're tip-toeing towards safety.
"Lots of positive things came out of the game - the only negative thing is that we didn't get three points. We've edged towards survival very well.
"The boys have been magnificent, they have been absolute heroes."
