Boat not sailing for Town
Ipswich Town, 16:21, November 3, 2009 ,
Hull midfielder George Boateng has reportedly snubbed the chance of a loan move to Ipswich to fight for his place at the KC Stadium.
The 34-year-old former Dutch international, who joined the Tigers from Middlesbrough in summer 2008, has only featured in four games for the Premier League strugglers. However when told by City boss Phil Brown that Roy Keane was looking to take him to Portman Road, Boateng revealed that he wanted to stay put and fight to play top-flight football.
It means Keane will have to cast his net elsewhere as he bids to find a combative midfielder to operate alongside Grant Leadbitter. Liam Trotter and Jack Colback have struggled for form this season, while David Norris is still a month away from returning to action after damaging knee ligaments during the opening day defeat at Coventry.
