Double defensive swoop

Ipswich Town, 21:08, July 2, 2009 ,

Ipswich have completed the signs of two defenders, QPR's Damien Delaney and Fulham youngster Troy Brown.

Republic of Ireland international Delaney, who can play at full-back and centre-back, has moved to Portman Road for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-year contract with Ipswich.
The 27-year-old told the club's website: "I have spoken to the manager, Roy Keane, and it's clear this club is very ambitious and I'm delighted to be part of trying to take the club forward."
Meanwhile, Brown has signed a 12-month deal after having to undergo two trials, one for former manager Jim Magilton and one for current boss Roy Keane.
The Wales Under-19 international said: "Jim Magilton offered me a deal after I had been at Ipswich a couple of weeks and then the new manager came in and I played in the reserves and it went okay."
