Double duo for Town

Ipswich Town, 14:57, January 8, 2009 ,

Ipswich Town are preparing a double swoop for Stockport defender Jimmy McNulty and goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams, say reports.

A spokesman at Edgeley Park has confirmed that many of the club's young stars could well be off in the transfer window.
"If serious offers are made, which are in the best interests of the player and the club, then these offers will be accepted," he said.
"Like any other club, we have to balance our ambition with the financial reality of our existence."
One of Stockport's prized assets is young defender McNulty with the 23-year-old at home at both left-back and centre-half.
The Scouser was signed from neighbours Macclesfield Town and played a huge role in getting County to the play-offs last season, and in their climb to 7th this time around.
The young defender has also featured twice for the Scottish Under-21 side. Town are also interested in Welsh Under-21 goalkeeper Fon Williams who has won 11 caps since his arrival from Crewe.
