Danny Higginbotham has extended his loan at Ipswich until the end of 2012.

The 33-year-old Stoke defender's initial one-month spell at Portman Road was due to expire but he has now signed new terms keeping him with the struggling npower Championship club for the maximum 93 days. Chief executive Simon Clegg told the club's official website: "We are delighted we have managed to keep Danny with us until the end of December. "He has settled into the team and the club very easily and made it known he would like to stay here when we started discussions about extending his loan. "He is very much committed to the cause here and I know he's delighted we have managed to reach an agreement with Stoke that keeps him in an Ipswich Town shirt for the rest of the year."
