Keane to ring changes for North End clash
Ipswich Town, 17:09, August 28, 2009 ,
Roy Keane could recall Liam Trotter into his Ipswich midfield as he plans to make changes for Saturday's visit of Preston North End.
The Town chief, who is still searching for his first win of the new Championship campaign, made six changes to his side for the 2-1 midweek Carling Cup defeat at Peterborough. And he is again set to rotate his playing staff further for the Portman Road showdown against an unbeaten Preston side.
Trotter is favourite to come back into the starting XI after on-loan Sunderland youngster Jack Colback and Colin Healy were given a torrid time in central midfield at London Road in the midweek cup clash.
Pablo Counago should start again after an impressive 60 minutes against Posh on his return from a groin injury which had kept him out since the start of the season. However Tamas Priskin's penalty miss could see him dropped, despite him firing his first goal for the club against Darren Ferguson's side.
Alex Bruce has taken over both the captaincy and a place in the centre of defence from Gareth McAuley so he is assured of his place in the XI.
Knee injury victims Luciano Civelli, Ben Thatcher and David Norris are all still sidelined, but Jaime Peters is fit after an ankle injury.
