Keeper announces retirement

Ipswich Town, 11:40, August 20, 2009 ,

Ipswich keeper Shane Supple has left the club to pursue a career outside football after falling out of love with the game.

The 22-year-old signed a new Portman Road deal over the summer but has decided to call time on his professional career after 38 appearances for the Tractor Boys.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 told the club's website: "When I was younger all I wanted to do was play in the Premier League but as you grow up you realise there are other things in life and the game is not what I thought it was.
"People probably think I'm crazy but I'm not going to stay in the game for anyone else."
Supple made his Town debut in 2005 and spent loan spells with Falkirk and Oldham.
