Teenager in line for Ipswich start

Ipswich Town, 14:46, August 18, 2009 ,

Roy Keane may hand Ipswich's teenage sensation Connor Whickham his first league start against Crystal Palace at Portman Road.

The 16-year-old looked lively coming off the bench on Saturday in Town's 0-0 draw with Leicester and he has previously impressed in the Carling Cup against Shrewsbury.
Keane may be forced to throw Whickham in at the deep end because he has a number of injury problems with David Norris set to be sidelined for four months with knee ligament damage.
Midfielder Jamie Peters is a doubt with an ankle problem while Ben Thatcher, Paublo Counago and Luciano Civelli are all out through injury.
