Wright confirms Town exit

Ipswich Town, 12:59, April 29, 2010 ,

Ipswich defender David Wright has confirmed he will leave in the summer after failing to earn a new deal at Portman Road.

Wright is out of contract in June and was hoping to have sorted a new deal with the Tractor Boys in time for next season.
However, after a meeting with boss Roy Keane, he has admitted he has been told he has no future at the club and will search for a new team for next term.
"I saw the manager on Tuesday and he said some nice things about me, but that he was looking in a new direction. I don't agree with his decision, but I have to respect it," he said in the East Anglia Daily Times.
Several other Town players are out of contract in the summer and the likes of Richard Wright, Shane O'Connor, Pim Balkestein, Ed Upson, Jack Ainsley, Liam Trotter, Reggie Lambe, Troy Brown, Devann Yao and Ian McLoughlin could all be shown the exit door by Keane as he looks to rebuild and mount a serious promotion charge in 2010-11.
