Buffon: we will progress

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is confident they will progress to the last eight, even though their fate may be out of their hands.
The Italians face the Republic of Ireland in their final group match on Monday but, even if they win, could automatically be eliminated from Euro 2012 if Spain and Croatia draw 2-2 in the corresponding Group C fixture.
But Buffon is confident of a Spain win and believes three points for Italy will be enough to take them through to the quarter-finals. "It depends on us and I am confident that a win against Ireland will be enough to progress," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
