Ex-Killie star willing to help out

Kilmarnock, 15:03, January 13, 2010 ,

Tommy McLean is understood to be holding talks with chairman Michael Johnston over a short-term role in charge of Kilmarnock.

The 62-year-old started his playing career with Killie, making over 200 appearances in a seven-year spell, and could be set for return as manager following the exit of Jim Jefferies this week.
The former Motherwell boss, a coach with the Scotland youth squad, has stated though that any return will only be on a temporary basis to help out his old club.
Speaking to the BBC, McLean said: "I've spoken to the chairman and he is looking for me to take charge in the short-term. I feel the club needs decisive action. I told him I would be interested if it was to the end of the season."
