Massive injury blow

Kilmarnock, 15:42, August 31, 2009 ,

Kevin Kyle has been forced to pull out of the Scotland squad after being told he is likely to be out for four weeks with a knee injury.

The Kilmarnock striker has started the season impressively and caught the eye of national team boss George Burley, who called up the former Sunderland ace for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Holland.
Kyle is now facing a month on the sidelines, after undergoing surgery to repair a torn cartilage, and will joined on the injury list by Alan Combe, with the keeper set to have an operation on a persistent hip injury.
