Striker impresses Killie boss
Kilmarnock, 15:18, August 27, 2009 ,
Jim Jefferies has praised striker Conor Sammon for his good start to the season and says the Kilmarnock striker has been working hard.
The former Derry City man has earned himself a chance up front alongside Kevin Kyle and Sammon has impressed his manager with the way he has improved.
The 22-year-old scored twice and was named man of the match in this week's 3-1 Co-Operative Insurance Cup victory over Morton and gained special praise from his manager.
Jefferies said: "Conor deserved his man-of-the-match award and did well to step up and take the penalty considering he hasn't scored this year.
"He is coming on a lot and is a hugely improved player. He has got the head down and is working his socks off."
