Kilmarnock, 17:44, August 19, 2008

Former Kilmarnock Bobby Williamson has been appointed the new Uganda boss and will lead them into the World Cup in 2010.

He has signed a two-year deal with the Cranes and takes over from Csaba Laszlo, who left Kampala to take charge of first-team affairs at Hearts.

The 47-year old was unveiled by the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations at a news conference today.

"I am happy to be here to start a new challenge in Africa", he said.
