Afellay stronger for injuries

Barcelona star Ibrahim Afellay believes his recent injury troubles have made him both physically and mentally stronger.

The Dutch international missed most of the 2011/12 campaign with a knee injury, the latest set-back in what has been a torrid time for him since moving to the Nou Camp in January 2011.
However, after impressing on his return to the Blaugrana towards the end of the season, he has been included in Holland coach Bert Van Marwijk's squad for Euro 2012 and the 26-year-old believes he has come back from his problems as a better footballer.
"A footballer never loses the feeling for the ball," Afellay said. "I don't think that there are things that I'm no longer capable of doing all of a sudden. The injury has made me stronger both physically and mentally."
