Barcelona defender Jordi Alba insists he is looking forward to the Olympics and made it clear he is fully fit to play in London.
Barca have made their feelings known on Alba's selection for the Spain side to play in the prestigious event, with the Catalans' management feeling he is not 100 per cent fit.
The former Valencia man played a full part in Spain's Euro 2012-winning campaign and it was thought that he would take the rest of the summer off to recharge his batteries after a long domestic season and the pressure of the European Championships.
But the talented left-back will be part of the Spain Under-23 squad and he has played down fears about the state of his body ahead of the tournament.
"I'm a young guy and I'm feeling very well. I would have been the first to give up on the Olympics if I wasn't feeling fit enough," he said.
"I would not have gone if I wasn't feeling well. I'm really looking forward to the tournament, though, and I'm keen to get going."
