Beckenbauer - Real just "normal"

Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer feels Real Madrid are "normal" compared to Barcelona ahead of the Champions League semi-final.

Real sit at the top of the La Liga standings by four points and are in great shape to reclaim the title from the Catalans this season, while there is a real possibility that the two Spanish giants could meet in the final of Europe's elite club competition. Real face Bayern in the first leg on Tuesday while Barcelona play Chelsea a day later in the other last-four clash. Both Spanish clubs are favourites to progress but, of the two, Beckenbauer is in no doubt which one holds the edge in terms of talent. "I have watched Real Madrid in the Champions League, and they only use standard equipment," he said. "They are a great team and work efficiently, but are just normal. Then there is the incredible dimension that Barcelona operate in."
