Marcelo Bielsa has quit Athletic Bilbao after a row with the Spanish club's board, according to reports in Spain on Friday.
The Argentinian, who led Bilbao to both the Europa League final and Spanish Cup final, had only just extended his contract until June 2013, but is believed to have quit after a row with the board over the club's plans for a new training centre.
According to Marca, Bielsa and his assistants have walked out over the argument, though the club published a statement on Friday disassociating itself from Bielsa's criticism at what he perceived was a delay in the construction of the facilities.
"Athletic does not share in any way the personal and subjective view expressed by Marcelo Bielsa at a press conference yesterday [Thursday] concerning the progress of the work [on the centre]," the statement read.
