Cruyff backs Guardiola choice

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff believes the club's manager Pep Guardiola is doing the right thing by leaving at the end of the season.

Having seen his side crash out of the Champions League in the semi-final stage to Chelsea after watching Barca lose to Real Madrid in La Liga to all but hand their rivals from the Spanish capital the domestic title, Guardiola has decided to walk away. Former Barca star Cruyff believes the master tactician is doing the right thing by taking a break away from the game. He told Marca: "I think it's good because it is a consuming task. "Work has been done extremely well and it takes strength to continue, especially in a very difficult time because there are changes. "Everyone lives as he likes and Guardiola has taken this decision after a lengthy period and now takes a rest and I think it's well deserved.''
