Espanyol agree Mallorca swap
Espanyol have agreed a swap deal with Real Mallorca which will see them sign Sergio Tejera in exchange for Javi Marquez.
Los Pericos' manager Mauricio Pochettino swooped for 22-year-old Tejera, who spent six years at the club before moving to join Chelsea in 2006. He was then allowed to join Mallorca on a six-month loan deal in 2009 before making the switch permanent from the English Premier League side. Tejera made 15 appearances for the Islanders last season, but will make the return to Espanyol as Marquez moves in the opposite direction. The 26-year-old fell out of favour last season following a long-term ankle injury and only made nine league appearances. He made it clear he would not be signing a contract extension beyond next summer so has been offloaded 12 months earlier.
