Paco Jemez has promised "dedication and commitment" to the job after he was confirmed as new Real Vallecano coach.
Jemez was introduced to the media on Friday and immediately compared the role to the one he had at Cordoba last season, where he led the side to the Segunda Division play-offs despite working on a tight budget.
"It augured the worst, with a very low budget, where no one wanted to think beyond the present and yet look what we've been able to achieve. I hope this year is a copy,"said the 42-year-old.
"These projects are taken forward with dedication and commitment."
Jemez replaces José Ramón Sandoval, who quit earlier this month after the club finished a lowly 15th in La Liga last season.
