Lampard upbeat for Barca challenge

Frank Lampard believes Chelsea's 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham at the weekend has given them the confidence to beat Barcelona.

The Blues face the Catalans in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge and will be trying to prevent the reigning champions securing an away goal. Chelsea have endured an up-and-down campaign but appear to have turned the corner with the change of manager. Thy thrashed Spurs at the weekend to advance to the FA Cup final and Lampard is hoping to take that result into the mid-week clash as they look to take a lead to the Nou Camp. "Beating Spurs like this has given us a real confidence boost," he said. "It's not like we're going from a bad defeat to a game against the best team in the world. "We have a lot of belief in ourselves. We have to take them on over two games, it's going to be very tough but if we play with the same focus and ability we showed against Tottenham we have a chance."
